Fourth of July Weekend in Boston

Whether you're celebrating the 4th or you're just enjoying the long weekend, here are some things that are happening in & around the city this weekend.

1. First Fridays at ICA: Caribbean Catwalk
Enjoy drinks, musical performances, dancing, a carnival costume presentation for Boston Caribbean Fashion Week at the ICA in Seaport. The museum itself will also be open to take a look at their current art exhibits. This is a ticketed 21+ event.
When: Friday July 1, 5pm-9pm

2. Kelleher Rose Garden
Visit the Kelleher Rose Garden in full bloom. The flowers are currently at their peak bloom. The garden contains more than ten classes and 200 varieties of roses. There are almost 1,500 plants in total. Founded in 1931, the James P. Kelleher Rose Garden is part of the Emerald Necklace. Stone dust pathways with benches navigating the gardens allow users to view the large variety of roses, cherubs, and the fountain. This is a great chance for a photo op or a cute cheap date.

3. The Tall Ship - Floating Bar
If you haven't been to The Tall Ship in Eastie yet - what are you doing? This retired vessel turned restaurant is definitely a must see. The galley kitchen specializes in oysters, shellfish, sushi & charcuterie boards. There's also lots of food trucks/vendors, beer huts with local beers & ciders, games, live entertainment and more! Note: 21+ after 7pm.
When: Mon-Wed 3pm-11pm, Thurs-Sun 11am-11pm

4. Serenity Beach Yoga
Beginner friendly yoga on Pleasure Bay Beach (City Point) in South Boston. All are welcome here. A great way to relax, unwind and find your zen. Yoga mats will be available to rent for $2 or you can bring your own.
When: Sundays from 6pm-7pm
Where: Pleasure Bay Beach, South Boston

5. Boston Harborfest
A 41 year tradition celebrating Boston's maritime and revolutionary history. There will be many activities all weekend long. To find the full list, visit their website here: https://www.bostonharborfest.com/ . Fireworks will be this Saturday at 9:15 on Long Wharf. This is a family friendly event.

6. Rooftop Party at Over the Charles

7. Boston Pops July 4th Fireworks Spectacular
The Boston Pops and Conductor Keith Lockhart are thrilled to announce the 2022 return of the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular to the Charles River Esplanade after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The program will take place under the direction of Keith Lockhart from the stage of the Hatch Memorial Shell on the Charles River Esplanade Shed, broadcast live on Bloomberg TV and Radio, as well as locally on WHDH-TV Channel 7.
When: Monday July 4, 7-11pm
Where: Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade
What: Fireworks & orchestra performance

8. Boston JerkFest
Outdoor Caribbean style foodie festival featuring Jamaican jerk spiced food. Spicy & hot food lovers rejoice, there will also be a Hot Sauce Fest here as well. Authentic Caribbean, international, and local spicy food for sale, including: spicy meals, jams, nuts, and desserts, as well as traditional home-made drinks from the Caribbean will be featured. Live music and performances for the whole family.
When: Saturday July 2 11am-7pm
Where: Harvard Athletic Complex, 145 North Harvard St, Allston

9. Sunset Boat Party with Miss Jennifer
Sail across the Boston Harbor with two stages of house & techno music. Boat will sail rain or shine (no refunds). The bar on the boat is cash only - the boat does have an ATM but be prepared & grab some cash before you board. Boarding begins at 6pm and departure is at 7pm sharp. This is a 21+ event, so make sure you bring a valid ID!
